What are the aspects that make a modding site a good one? What are the aspects that make a modding site a bad one?Based on your experience, what kind of behavior or attitudes from the staff should be avoided in a modding site? What kind of features should be implemented in a modding site? What would you like to see in this community in order to make you feel at home?
1.) Easy access to our resources (models, skins, icons) and tutorials to help map makers and newbies on their projects.
2.) For me, a modding community becomes bad if the community itself don't talk and help each other.
3.) For me its the mod becoming hubris after he gets the moderating power, means at start he helps or submit resources, but after he get the power, he stop helping users and stop submitting his resources and become a abuser of power.
4.) For me the site have some great features, might not be original but the execution is a lot better than the other site. I also like that you can see your post count on your submitted resources etc etc. Maybe, just maybe add a shoutbox, since our chat room is dead silent at the moment.
5.) I want to see this community to become active and helpful to everybody, newbs and pro should help each other.
1. Active and friendly community. I also want equality and a proper social "government" if you would say.
2. Abusing power, flaming, noob-hating, social/forum standings. Staffs should still remember that they are users, just with more privileges.
3. Abusing power, as stated above. I also particularly hate mods who downgrade users with like 10 rejected resources and assumes it is of "crappy" quality, resulting a rejection. In short, being judge-mental or very judging/stereotype.The staff should also address the community. If there were plans for promotion of a user - address the community. A new feature? Ask the community their thoughts. Demotion/ban? Ask the community.
4. Government. So people would know what they need to know and not know what they dont need to know.
5. Active, friendly and helpful. No social/forum standings, where high rep or old users dominate.
And jay, your #3 is can be justified. Staff = more power. More power = more responsibilities. He could have lesser time to submit personal works due to him moderating a particular area.
True that bro.An off-topic say: Chat? Need to discuss stuff.
Everything needs changes, and there are two types of changes, a bad one and a good one, we want the good one.
1. A section where a user can download/upload 3ds, obj, skp, fbx, mdx, mdl, blend, dae, md2, md3, kmz, gmax, max model file type. I have noticed that .mdx file type cannot be uploaded here unless it is zipped or in rar. You can actually manage the extensions in your administrator control panel so that every model file type can be uploaded here.
