Request: DH, needing a team:

My map is, well, somehow of a big project. Though that i need help cause there are some spells that i need on doing but i dont know how to JASS, VJASS or use hashtables and stuff, but still, i think ive done pretty well.

The objetive of the map is to create a complete plataform for a series of melee maps (with the facility of doing an atractive map but altered by just changing the terrain) and some other features such as AOS, ARENA, SIEGE, capture the flag, enfos, team survival, campaings, rpgs, etc, and, like everything is almost done, you will only need to change the mod and ya.

i need help for some things such as doing the items (im doing a system like the one dota uses) and for doing some abilities and models such as:

Salvo: The Ranger stands in ground with a heavily reduced MS, and wherever she LANDS AND ATTACK she spends X mana, and sends a volley of arrows upon the AREA of the attack (a rain of arcane arrows like the WOW salvo) that deals X base damage + your AGI, and doing a feedback effect based on your Arcane Aim feedback...

For items im doing recipes and stuff, and item classes such as weaps, armor, accesories, components, consumables, etc...

Hi Darkfang, and welcome to Blizzmod :D

Well, your project looks big and wide, and it seems you need a lot of work to do.

Questions: Do you have the units concepts?? just inspire us with your ideas :D

Please post your heroes, units, terrains ideas, with screenshots, so show the big picture and we can know the best way to help you.

The only damn thing that I can do is terraining, but I can't really help you there physically(I have lots of things to do atm), so I can only give you advise and way to do stuffs on it if you're having a hard time.

Well, in general, to start with something. Please describe one thing you need the most. For example... item system or hero abilities.

Please try to be as detailed and specific as possible in order to get good results :)

Well, im making a Dota-Like item system wich features recipes in order to complete items (and like that i get the players to be totally adicted to the games), i feature components such as essences:

Example: Lesser Essence of STR (+1 STR), when you acquiare 2 of theese you get a Small Essence of STR (+2), ive already done the GUI system for this, so it is not a big deal, the only problem for me are the recipes wich take me too much time to go and complete and im not too good at it (i need help)...

Ive also added Relics, and i need a system to spread them randomly in the map... They work pretty well, like the Relics from Age of Mythology.

And lastly my items aim at working almost like RPG items, with limitations for each item type (1 two handed weapon or 2 one handed weapons, 3 max armor items, 4 max accesory items, unlimited consumables and components)... also im making some stuff to allow normal units to carry items... and ive already solved the problem of the units crashing the game by using runes and tomes.

The other minnor issue is that i need help from you to upgrade some spells, as you see i need good triggerers and Vjassers, i recommend you to play the game. I need at least 2 more people in my project since it all ive have done it alone and it is a heavy work...

Ah! And i recommend u to test my custom races!

We can create a item mixer system, it would imply to make it in such way you can define combinations.

this one is more complicated to do.... because item system must be connected to this one.

BTW, your map has a serious lag, it requires a lot of optimization and you've reached the GUI limit in effectiveness. Any improvement must come from unify process in single timers. Additionally many effect like the spiders put more load to the game.

I consider to review what's important in your map and what not. I see many things are only eye candy but they don't promote anything to the map itself.

Let's talk in your thread.

well, the fue cando I think that it can be removed, im Also trying to eliminate. lots of custom info and data wich reduces load time. Also the version I debe u isnt optimized so u can OpenID it. I feed u to complete ítem recipes and the rangers salvo

sorry for the bad typing im on my phone, I was also wondering of u could adapte the rangers arcane arrow vence i use dummy units for it. could u make it deal Bonus damage from agility? and of u could do a version of her forest aid that isnt based on locust swarm and to be permanent, (some birds flying in circle arround her revealing the area). tell me when u hace checked the be heroes and the items. im planning to add an arena mode to my map.

Weapon INFO Table:

The max number of weapons is 1 one handed and 2 two handed. Two handed weapons grant greater bonuses.

Swords: Swords add critical chance. The max critical chance for a unit is 30%. Heroes and units can only pass that cap with boosts (such as buffs and extras) and masteries (like the Blademaster’s Critical Edge ability which allows him to increase his max Critical Chance up to 40%). Critical strikes normally deal x2 damage, items, boosts and abilities (again the blademaster and other heroes) may allow increasing that damage (by using the engineering upgrade ability, which is kind of simple). Swords also grant defensive edge which reduces the attack speed of close enemies that attack by the front.

Daggers:
Daggers deals backstab damage upon landing physical damage on the back or the rear of the enemy. Backstab damage comprehends on dealing 25% to 50% of the damage received by the target as bonus pure damage. Also adds a chance to make the enemy bleed.

Axes: Axes deal bonus damage depending on the missing life of the enemy. They also allow you to gain damage for each armor point of the enemy.

Staffs: Have a chance to negate a close frontal attack (parry). As an extra your attacks have a chance to make the enemy run away (this isn’t a fear state, just a trigger giving an order). One handed staffs grant less bonus.

Maces: Grants % chance bash (only half for range). Bash doesn’t deal bonus damage, unless masteries or extras allow it. Also increases damage dealt to structures (demolish).

Spears: Adds a chance on attack to pitch the unit, immobilizing it for 0.50 seconds (0.25 for one handed) and to deal bonus pure damage based on the enemy max life. Non-neutral units enter on a hold-position mode. Also grants beastslayer, which grants bonus damage against neutral units.

Halberds: They grant cleaving attack. Most of them are 2 handed.

Bows: They grant bonus damage against aerial enemies, bonus damage depending on the distance between the attacker and the target (% of the total stats) and Aim which adds a chance of dealing (x) bonus damage in a never-missing attack.

Fire-weapons: Grants extra attack speed depending on distance between target and attacker (more attack speed the far away the unit is). Also grants ammo attack which adds a chance to do a mini stun causing bonus damage. Increases attack speed against aerial enemies.
Claws: They add attack speed for each 1% of missing life of the enemy. Also adds a chance to Maim, slowing enemies AS and MS.

Whips: They have a chance to ensnare the enemy for a short duration on attacks, granting extra chance if the enemy is at range and u attack it by the back. Adds a chance on each attack to disarm the opponent or to slow it’s attack speed.
Wands: causes your hero to deal spell damage on attacks (x damage + a % of all stats and AP ability power). They add a chance of critical cast. Critical casts deal up to 2x times normal damage on single target spells and up to 50% bonus damage on AoE spells.

Rods: They add spell bash, wich adds a chance to stun when landing spells on enemies. It has a cooldown. Also grants force; adds a chance of knocking the enemy back (quickly), damage and distance increases with AP.
Scepters: Add spell vamp, wich causes the hero to regain life depending on spell damage dealt, only a 33% for AoE spells, max spellvamp is 40%, at exception of boosts and abilities. Also grants spell rime: causes you to gain AP for each 1% of max HP missing.

Spheres: Grants Magic Shatter, which makes your attacks deal 100% bonus damage as spell damage each X seconds, this also feeds on AP. Also grants Spell Penetration: allows your spells to ignore X quantity of Magic Resistance.

Spellbooks: They are really variable and grant various actively used abilities. Sometimes they come in the shape of scrolls.

Of course there will be items that may grant bonuses like these without necessarily being weapons or being the same class of weapons specified on here. Tell me if I forgot something.

Most of the items are made, i will send u a version that will contain the nobutton bash bonus (Though that i wonder if the critical and the bash could be made directly by triggers so that i save space)

I'm working now with the inventory system. This will be done as generic as possible in order to make it very automated.

The API would be:

function AddRecipe takes integer i1, integer i2, integer i3, integer i4, integer i5, integer i6, integer R returns nothing
Where each integer "i" is the raw code of the item and "R" is the created item. If you only need 3 items, just fill the remaining values with 0.

If the hero has two items of the same type it will automatically make a fusion of them.

We can trigger this but we'll need to implement a damage detection system. But first we would need to work with the optimization in your map before anything.
